EMBRACING CONNECTION WITH SELF

We believe that the body has an amazing and innate ability to heal itself and that physical health is intricately connected to the health of our mind and our spirit. The stressors of daily life, our diets, environment, and our lifestyle in general, can leave us feeling depleted and out of sync. Our ability to re-balance, recover, and redirect our inner resources can seem inaccessible at times.  We must remember that it is not!

Like a tree in the depth of winter, we know that sometimes inner resources are hidden from view, that they can be deep within the earth, waiting for a trigger - sunlight, warmth, rain.  Herbal medicine and Astrological insights can both be powerful triggers. They are wonderful tools to help maintain an already healthy state or to assist the body and mind in times of need; bringing support from the outside, to awaken the resources within and help reunite the self.

MY STORY

Hi, I'm Justine, the face behind The Dry Tree.

Since I was young and making yearly trips to visit family in Yorkshire, England, I have been learning about herbs and the interconnectedness of all things - the wisdom of the natural world.

I grew up making myself teas from the spice cupboard to ease headaches, find calm, and feel more connected to nature and myself. In 2014 I began my formal education in herbal medicine at David Winston's Center for Herbal Studies , taking his two-year and graduate programs there.  I then spent 6 months studying at The Northeast School of Botanical Medicine with 7Song.  Since then I have apprenticed for herbalist Sharon Moncrief of Green Briar Herbalist, mentored with Kerry Adams of Herbally Yours, and enjoyed courses with Paul Bergner, Chanchal Cabrera, and Rosalee de la Foreit.  As an herbalist, I am always looking to grow my knowledge base and deepen my inuition.

My other passion is astrology. For me this was unexpected and I started out a complete skeptic!  I took a three day course with my teacher Eytan Tsioni, and I couldn't help but want to learn more.  I have been studying with Eytan and independently and doing readings since 2012.

Part of the beauty of herbal medicine and astrology is that they demand I call upon both my "science brain" and my creative heart in order to see the whole picture.
